Everyone Loves a Fair!

So on Friday we went to the NC State Fair. We go every year and we had a great time, as usual! :D I took a ton of pictures, surprise, surprise. Usually, we just go to the fair, look to see if our entries won anything, and look at a bunch of exhibits. No food or rides. However, this year, Nathan and I decided to sample some food... *evil grin* I got a deep-fried pecan pie (so delicious!) and Nathan got deep-fried oreos (he liked them). Mom pronounced them both disgusting (which means they were both extremely yummy).

I think we traumatized Joshua... :-) In case he got lost, I wrote his name and mom and dad's cell phone numbers on his arm with a pen. We told him that if he got lost, he needed to walk up to someone and tell them he was lost and show them his arm. He was so terrified of getting lost that he freaked out whenever we took him away from Mommy. Poor kid.

This was also the longest time we've ever spent at the fair. We got there around 10am and didn't leave until 6pm. Needless to say, we were exhausted. What I don't get is why Joy Anna was so wound up and crazy on the way home. She didn't sleep all day yet she talked and laughed all the way home...

Anyway, here's some pics from the day! (WARNING: A lot of pics!) Click on them for full res.

Isn't she a doll?

Cow girl kisses <3

Grace really wanted the raffle horse!

He also got a second place for his eagle.

Isaac's Twin Towers

The girls' mobiles

Nathan got second on that airplane.

This won first place. Isn't it incredible?!

Ok, so maybe we get kettle corn, but that (and maybe ice cream) is it!

Look at those brooms!

I have no clue what to call him but he was about 8-10 feet tall, walked around, and sang...

That is actually a cake!

Chickies :-)

Joy Anna loved the fair

282 lb watermelon...

this actually isn't the biggest pumpkin that's ever been entered here...

is it just me or does that sweet potato look like a dead chicken?

My deep-fried pecan pie! :-P

That looks like a headache for someone :)

Food?

The butt line up :)

I'll pull yours off if you pull mine off!

We found out Grace likes baby cows. She's asking us to get one...

King of the Mountain - or should I say King of the Yak?

Good bye, fair! I had a wonderful time! See you again in about 4 years...

She was unbelievably wound-up on the ride home

Then when we got home, Nathan's birthday present was waiting for him :-)

Oh yah!
